I have him potty trained to go in a tub with an inch of water in it, but with my spinel injury I can no longer pick him up to put him in the tub. He is about 35 pounds and has never lived outside. | Comments: | Hello, I have found myself as the custodian of a 36 pound Sulcata. I live in Arizona and he has access to a fairly large yard with a supply of Bermuda grass to graze. He has started to patrol one section of the yard along a fence. It can go on for hours. I have tried diverting him to the Bermuda area and he just heads back to the patrol section. Last night he didn't go back to his shelter but just spent the night in the patrol section. At first I thought he was just getting exercise and perhaps this helped with his food digestion. However, it seems to be becoming obsessive. I will appreciate any feedback. Thank you |

I always wanted one but knew I wouldn't be able to provide for one once it grew. | Comments: | I love your website. I work with The Cat Shack Rescue in Trexlertown, PA and someone had asked me an adoption event about a rescue for turtles, Red Sliders, I believe. I posted on our FB page and you were highly recommended. I will send you and email but wanted to make sure I got in touch with you as the turtles are not being cared for properly. I had a friend that had turtles so I knew a little of their care. The lady in question had really tried to help. Her friend had 3 turtles all different sizes I think and she did not want them anymore. So this other lady took them. She has had them for a month and did not know they needed a heat lamp or certain temp. water. She did wash them but used soap. I had her talk to the sales clerk at Petsmart but I don't know if she bought anything.. I have her phone number and she has mine. She does not want to keep the turtles but tried to save them. Please let me know if you can help or give me some guidance. I will email and maybe call you. |

I wouldn't worry about it coming back to bother you, if anything the "C" word should be scared of you, I mean, you're just going to kick it's butt again. I cried while reading your bio. My animals do the same thing for me: make me smile when I have no reason to. Granted I only have seven: 2 dogs, two cats, two ferrets and a seven year old iguana (all rescues, except one ferret, I caved at the pet store). I adore my iguana and after I did my research, I am absolutely fascinated by reptiles and can see how one can plunge into it so deeply, I never devoured a book like I did Melissa Kaplan's, "Iguanas for dunnies," I mean NEVER. I was shocked by my new found passion. May G*D continue to bless your righteous work. Your story makes your work even more wonderful. I'm sorry you had to go through that, but I love your story. It's one of rags to riches. I'm a sucker for a rags to riches story. |

| Comments: | WOW!! Christina, I am truly amazed @ the incredibly wonderful work you are doing. I live in NV up in the mountains @ 7000' - about an hour from the Las Vegas strip. There is so much wildlife here it's amazing. I have to remove snakes (poisonious non) that wander into our yard every year. I never kill them! I relocate them - by hand :) Also re-homed several salcata tortiouses. Nothing at all like what you do. I am thrilled @ what you are doing & on such a large scale! I am studying an Amazonian language and there is a suffix that is used for objects that are bark, skin, cover of sthg., etc. I think the original meaning is skin, bark. Anyway, this suffix is used only with piranhas and not other fish. I was wondering if there is something in the bodies of piranhas that could resemble a skin or bark.
